After suffering from chronic back pain for over 12 years, I discovered yoga which changed my life for the better and continues to do so every day.  I started my practice in a beautiful little studio in Nashville, TN in 1995 where my teacher, Betty Larsen, inspired me to be a teacher myself.  I apprenticed with her for 4 years in the Iyengar Style.  During that time, I also studied extensively with an Ashtanga/Vinyasa teacher.  Although the styles are very different, I found so many helpful tools in each of them that I continued to study both which lead me to many other wonderful styles of yoga including Vini Yoga, Yin Yoga, Power Yoga, Kundalini, Anusara, Meditation, Bhakti, Mantra, Tantra and more.

Over the years, I began to blend all of the teachings into a practice that was flexible enough to adapt to my ever changing needs.  I continue to study a variety of styles, teachings and modalities which allows me to remain open, inquisitive and flexible in my practice, helping me tremendously in my every day life.

Having taught for the past 24 years, my deepest passion is working individually or in a small group format to help students find greater joy in all areas of their lives. Life experience, 26 years of practice and numerous trainings throughout the years, has allowed me to utilize a wide array of tools that yoga offers in my own life, which I love sharing with others. I teach from a holistic perspective, working with people on the quality of their relationships whether to their body, breath, mind, work or other people. The tools are very unique to each person but a session can include any number of the following: asana (poses), meditation, coaching, pranayama (breath work), visualization, chanting & sound, communication, goal setting, lifestyle, diet, education and reflection.

My goal as a Holistic Yoga Teacher is to help students get clear on what they want their life to look life in every way (physically, mentally, emotionally, in their relationships, etc) and to support them in living that life in ways that are both appropriate and sustainable.

I am passionate about offering a practice to my students that is just as unique and ever-evolving as they are while always reminding them of the wisdom and light that comes from within, ultimately revealing their true self and their capacity for creating a life they love.

In March 2005, I founded Yoga Blend in Burbank, CA and it has been one of my greatest joys.  I created and have been the director of Yoga Blend's 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification course since 2007 as well as a 300 Hour Holistic Yoga Teacher Certification Course which was developed in 2012.  Teaching teachers is another of my greatest passions. I see it as a way to give back to all my incredible teachers that have supported me along my learning and teaching path throughout the years.
