Online Teacher Training in the Pandemic Era

Yoga Alliance President and CEO Shannon Roche shares valuable member feedback received over the past many months and discusses the Online Teaching Exemption now available for RYS and RYT members through 2021. Member-Wide Ethical Commitment

The Yoga Alliance Ethical Commitment came in response to membership asking for greater clarity on how to best welcome all who wish to practice yoga. Its three-pronged approach asks members to review and understand all Yoga Alliance policies and abide by an updated Code of Conduct, a new Scope of Practice, and a shared awareness of and responsibility to equity in yoga.

Emergency Relief

The Yoga Alliance Foundation launched an Emergency Fund in support of those hardest hit by COVID-19. Phase two of this work—the Eka Recovery Fund—introduces a “Teaching for Equity” pilot program focusing on the intersection of economic recovery, yoga service, and community outreach.
