Lessons and Reflections from Wanderlust: Stratton

July 1, 2015

This month, our spokesperson Andrew Tanner, E-RYT 500, traveled across the country to meet with yogis from all walks of life. From June 18 – 21, he visited Wanderlust: Stratton, a yoga festival held in Bondville, Vermont. It is one of the fastest growing yoga festivals in the world.

During the festival, our staff and volunteers spoke with over 400 attendees about our programs. We provided free professional headshots to almost 150 people at our booth.

On Friday, Bill McKibben, an environmentalist and educator, gave a talk about climate change. During his discussion, he urged the yoga community to take action. Several attendees promised to share his message in their local communities.

We spent time with Seane Corn, E-RYT 500, and Rod Stryker, E-RYT 500, to hear why continuing education is important to them. We also spoke with Carmen Curtis, RYT 200 and the founder of AIReal Yoga. Aerial yoga is a new style of yoga where people practice mid-air. It is a growing trend in the yoga community, and we heard many comments and questions about this style.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth during this event! Keep an eye on Our Calendar to see where Yoga Alliance® is going next. Make sure to say hello when we’re in your community!
