Become a Member

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Yoga Alliance™!

Yoga Alliance is a voluntary member-based, non-profit organization that serves yoga schools and yoga teachers across the globe. Yoga Alliance provides world-recognized credentials and unifies its members around a shared Ethical Commitment consisting of a Code of Conduct, Scope of Practice, and collective awareness of and responsibility to equity in yoga. Our goal is to support the high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable teaching of yoga.

We support our membership by offering clear, distinct standards that underlie each and every one of our yoga school and yoga teacher credentials. These credentials serve as markers to the public of high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga teaching. This distinction sets Yoga Alliance members apart in the otherwise crowded and growing yoga teaching field.

 Yoga Practitioners

Yoga Practitioners

While Yoga Alliance does not offer a membership for yoga practitioners at this time, we support the student by up-leveling the yoga profession and enhancing schools’ and teachers’ efforts in building yoga communities throughout the world that support and foster environments for high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga.

Current practitioners or prospective students may search for schools for yoga teacher training programs, teachers, and providers of continuing education who hold Yoga Alliance credentials via the online global directory. Our global directory includes RYSs, RYTs, and YACEPs who maintain current credentials, abide by our standards, and uphold our community-driven shared ethical commitment.
