Yoga Alliance Standards
These standards describe Yoga Alliance’s requirements for a Registered Yoga School that offers a 200-hour teacher training. Topics for a RYS teacher training must be relevant to Yoga Alliance’s five educational categories as defined below. RYSs must provide a minimum number of hours of study in each educational category, and to make up the total 200 required hours, must also provide additional hours of study relevant to these categories, which may be distributed according to the school’s chosen emphasis.
These standards describe Yoga Alliance’s requirements for a Registered Yoga School that offers a 300-hour advanced teacher training. The 300-hour RYS standards are advanced standards of study; therefore a RYS may not offer a 300-hour advanced training without providing the foundational 200-hour training as well (through either a RYS 200 or a RYS 500 training). These schools offer 500 hours of training in two segments; 200 hours and 300 hours.

Topics for RCYS’s teaching teacher trainings must be relevant to Yoga Alliance’s five educational categories as defined below. Additionally RCYS curriculum includes requirements related to ‘General Background in the Specialty Area.'
These standards describe Yoga Alliance’s requirements for a Registered Yoga School that offers a Prenatal Yoga training. Topics for RPYS’s teacher trainings must be relevant to Yoga Alliance’s five educational categories as defined below. Additionally, RPYS curriculum includes requirements related to: ‘General Background in the Specialty Area.'
