We Did It, Illinois! Now on to the House!

Last Updated: December 9, 2016

We are pleased to let you know that SB 2743 passed through the Illinois Senate unanimously by a 53-0 vote! This important legislation, strongly supported by Yoga Alliance®, will preserve the rights of yoga teacher training programs (YTTs) in Illinois to operate without unnecessary regulation. We commend our legislators, especially bill sponsor Sen. Don Harmon, for their efforts to strengthen our yoga community.

What's Next?

As we celebrate legislation passed in the Illinois Senate with unanimous support, we need to gear up for the House as the bill still needs to be voted on by the other chamber. We will look to you for continuing support as our bill advances through the legislature, and we will keep you updated on next steps.

Send Some Gratitude

It’s a good time to show appreciation for the hard work of our elected officials that joined our efforts to support YTTs throughout the state by sending a "thank you" email. You can reach out to the members who helped to make this possible. Below is the relevant contact information.

You can also find your local Senator online to say thanks as well!
